A body was discovered at Lake Piru in Ventura County, California on Monday morning, officials said.
A recovery process has been underway at the lake since last week when “Glee” actress Naya Rivera went missing while boating with her 4-year-old son. The person’s identity has not yet been released.
The Ventura Country Sheriff is scheduled to hold a new conference this afternoon at 2 pm PT.
Rivera’s son said the two had been swimming, but Rivera never returned, according to Capt. Eric Buschow. The boy was wearing a life vest and another adult life vest was found on the boat, he said.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department has had multiple teams of search and rescue personnel searching Lake Piru for Rivera over the weekend, including specialized dive teams from neighboring counties. The department has also utilized helicopters, boats, ATV vehicles and ground units to try and locate her.
